Business Intelligence Architect/Consultant - Microsoft

Version 1 has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Microsoft BI Architect/Consultant for a permanent position based primarily in our Dublin office. You will join a growing team within our Business Intelligence Unit, a part of Version 1's Business Application Solutions Practice.

The ideal candidate will a proven track record in leading and delivering Business Intelligence and/or Data Warehouse system projects with enterprise level organisations. This is a great opportunity to further your career with a leading Microsoft Partner and may suit an experienced SQL BI Consultant or Development Team Lead moving or recently moved into Consulting as a career. We are seeking someone who can create and deliver a BI vision with customers across many sectors. You will be highly proficient working with business stakeholders and managing project teams.
 

Role Responsibilities

  • Design and implementation of database models on the SQL Server 2005 or 2008 RDBMS platform
  • Proven track record architecting enterprise level Data Marts/ Data Warehouse
  • Development of BI Proofs of Concept
  • BI Analysis and production of Specifications and Reports
  • Development of T-SQL stored procedures and routines, SSIS, SSAS and SSRS
  • Documentation of all work carried out (e.g. data models, configurations, and setup)
  • Problem solving and strong client facing skills

Skills

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years MS SQL Server experience (2005/2008) and experience in the following:

  • Ability to elicit requirements and define a BI Solution
  • Experienced in application of Data Warehouse/BI methodologies
  • Microsoft SQL Server as BI Platform
    • SQL Server Integration Services packages - SSIS
    • SQL Server Analysis Services cubes – SSAS
    • SQL Server Reporting Services reports – SSRS
  • Knowledge of MS Power Pivot
  • Proficient in Data Modelling and use of suitable tools
  • Knowledge or experience of other BI Platforms such as Oracle BI and SAP Business Objects a distinct advantage.
  • Exposure to other third-party BI tools and Data Visualisation Products such as Tableau, Qlikview etc
  • Microsoft Certification (e.g. MCDBA, MCSD, MCITP – BI Developer)
