Working at Version 1

We work in a very dynamic, fast-paced environment and we have developed a unique recruitment process to ensure that people who work for us are not only excellent but can also enjoy a successful career with great prospects for career advancement.

Our recruitment process

Our typical selection process consists of the following:

1) Online aptitude assessment

This is a timed assessment administered by Thomas International. The purpose of this assessment is to measure a candidate's speed and accuracy in five different areas: reasoning, perceptual speed, number speed and accuracy, spatial visualisation and word meaning. This assessment measures a person's ability rather than intelligence. It gives each candidate the opportunity to show how quickly they will learn new skills and work habits and also show their working strengths in an objective way.

For more information on the assessment, tips how to do your best and some assessment examples, please go to http://www.thomasinternational.net/4/test+takers.aspx

2) Technical assessment

We have developed technical tests specific to certain technical skills sets to demonstrate a candidate's actual technical ability. These are usually written tests completed in our office just before interview. These tests take approximately 30 minutes.

3) Face-to-face interview with hiring manager

The interview involves questioning around your CV. Interviewers probe a candidate's match for a role and environment. As well as a thorough technical interview, an HR professional will assess behavioural analysis and motivational fit for a role.

4) Psychometric assessment

This is usually the last stage of the process. Just like the aptitude assessments, it is administered by Thomas International and can be done online at home.

After completing the assessment you will receive a Personal Profile Analysis which will:

  • Provide an accurate overview of your work behavioural preferences
  • Give you the self awareness to consolidate your working strengths and compensate for your limitations
  • Can be used to modify your communication style for greater effect
  • Used to understand the impact your behavioural preferences have on your work colleagues

Please note that candidates who do not have access to a computer or internet are welcome to complete the online assessments in our office.
