02 June 2009
Version 1, the leading Irish IT Consulting and Services Company, today announced a three-year deal with Irish Continental Group to provide Oracle support and consultancy services. The Managed Service agreement covers 24x7 support and maintenance of high availability Oracle Real Application Clusters supporting ICG's primary passenger booking engine, www.irishferries.com.
Critical Oracle Infrastructure Forms Basis of the 200K Contract
Brendan McGettrick, Enterprise Director at Version 1 says, "We understand how critical this system is to ICG's passenger business; a poor customer booking experience is simply unacceptable. Our Managed Service features proactive monitoring and system alerts which identify issues before they become critical. This enables ICG to guarantee the high performance, availability and resilience needed to meet their customer service targets."
Commenting on the deal, Seamus McCarville, Chief Information Officer at Irish Continental Group said, "Version 1 previously helped us upgrade and re-platform the technical infrastructure underpinning our passenger booking system. We were extremely impressed by the company’s technical expertise and customer service. Having had such a positive experience, we had no qualms about entrusting the management of our business-critical systems to Version 1."
