Version 1 closes one of the first Microsoft Online Services commercial licence deals in Ireland

Version 1, the leading Irish IT Consulting and Services Company, today announced a deal with a leading Irish company operating on the international stage to deploy SharePoint Online and Exchange Online to deliver a HR portal and document collaboration functionality without the expense of up-front licence or hardware costs.

While many IT services companies are avoiding the whole issue of software as a service, Version 1 was quick to recognise the value of hosted services. According to Version 1 Director John Mullen, "This customer's requirements were ideally suited to a SharePoint implementation, but restrictions on time and budget ruled out a traditional on-premise deployment. As a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, we had the opportunity to preview BPOS pre-release and we were impressed by the potential to deliver enterprise-class software solutions to our customers, in a cost-effective and scalable manner using the per-user, per-month licence model."
This solution has delivered improved collaboration and communication within our customer's organisation, without any large investment in equipment or any significant ongoing management cost. It also gives them the flexibility to leverage other Microsoft products within the BPOS suite or to extend existing deployment to new business groups.
