Version 1 delivers Membership Management System to Engineers Ireland in €300k deal

    09 March 2010

"Version 1, Ireland's leading IT Consulting and Outsourcing Company, has developed an integrated membership management system for Engineers Ireland that enhances the overall experience of members, provides operational efficiencies for staff and supports the Institution’s efforts to increase overall membership numbers."

Version 1 won a competitive procurement process to design and deliver the new membership system by offering a very attractive alternative to the two most obvious options: expensive 'bespoke' solution or inflexible 'off-the-shelf' product. Brendan McGettrick, Enterprise Director at Version 1 explains, "Our winning proposition was to combine our expertise in member management with our development framework to assemble a customised solution designed to meet Engineer Ireland’s exact requirements at an acceptable price point."

The new system replaces an existing membership management application and CRM system with a centralised member-centric system which interfaces to a number of other systems and applications, including an online payment facility, a professional networking solution and financial package.

John Power, Director General Engineers Ireland, says "Our new membership management system really puts our members at the centre of everything we do. We are seeing significant benefit from the system in terms of customer service and operational efficiencies. The speed to process new memberships has increased and our members report much improved engagement with us. At the same time, we have reduced the effort staff spend on administering memberships, allowing us to refocus staff efforts on activities that bring higher value to our members."

"To give a concrete example of the efficiencies gained through member self-service: Within the first four weeks of operation, 25% of our members updated their personal details online. To achieve this manually in the same timeframe would have taken the effort of six full-time staff."
