Version 1 launches New Solution for Public Sector
06 May 2009
Version 1, the leading Irish IT Consulting and Outsourced Managed Services Company, today announced it has launched a Grant Management Solution as a shared service for Public Sector organisations. The solution will give organisations licensed, on-demand use of the software at dramatically reduced costs and without the hassle or expense of hardware and maintenance.
Grant Management Solution as a shared service
In the last number of years, Version 1 has designed and deployed a number of bespoke Grant Management systems to help Public Sector organisations administer, monitor and report on government and EU grant schemes. Acknowledging the commonalities inherent in the grant administration process, Version 1 has now launched a shared service whereby organisations that need a more robust management system for their grant management processes can benefit from an advanced technology solution at a fraction of the cost traditionally associated with such projects.
Commenting on the new shared service, Version 1 Director Tom O'Connor says, "Shared Services have already proven themselves as a way of delivering cost efficiencies, particularly in the Irish Public Sector. Given the number of organisations with a responsibility to process grants, it makes perfect sense that this model should be extended to cover this important Government area. Rather than have multiple grant systems developed and supported that deliver very similar functionality, our approach is to deliver a grant management system suitable for use by Irish Public Sector organisations at a much lower cost than if they developed a solution themselves. We believe this approach will allow organisations to quickly and easily deploy a solution which previously may have been out of their reach."
He adds, "At a time when Public Sector IT budgets are under significant pressure, I think it is very important for companies like us to be focused on delivering smart solutions at a compelling price. Irrespective of the economic climate it makes very little sense for there to be a myriad of grant management systems designed, developed and supported across the Public Sector. This approach should yield immediate and ongoing efficiencies for the Irish Public Sector and the taxpayer as a whole".
