Reporting Solution
Challenge
The Teaching Council required a reporting solution to gain a greater insight into the information stored within its central registration database and inform decisions regarding its remit to promote teaching as a profession, to promote the professional development of teachers and to regulate standards in the profession.
Solution
We deployed a powerful, ad-hoc query and analysis tool to allow the Council to gather and report on some 70,000 records maintained within its registration database. The reporting solution not only advances the Council’s operations by giving greater visibility on its data, but it also makes it easier for the Council to respond to external requests for information. For example, the reporting solution facilitates the Council in the production of an annual statistical report for central government.

Benefit
- The Council can quickly and efficiently respond to specific queries regarding its teaching base and produce reports which offer an accurate and timely representation of its registration database
- Through training and knowledge transfer, the Council have the capacity to configure reports, manage users, and conduct general system maintenance – making it largely self sufficient in its reporting requirements
- We leveraged the Council's existing investment in Oracle technology by deploying Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI SE1).
