With the aim of complementing the Oracle Payroll Special Interest Group sessions, we are launching a Global Payroll User Group. Join us to help shape the format of future meetings.
The digital needs of students, faculty, and staff are constantly evolving and it can be a challenge for legacy ERP systems to keep up. From a security and compliance standpoint, a campus’ risk has increased exponentially as years of accumulating ERP data (PII) has created a significant liability with the introduction of data privacy mandates like GDPR. In addition, campuses are seeking ways to better leverage their self-service ERP capabilities in service to improved user productivity – however, introducing mobility to a legacy ERP system can introduce just as much risk as reward.
The question is, how can you apply the modern data security strategies to legacy ERP systems that are necessary to keep up with the threats of today? Fortunately, moving to the cloud or to another ERP system is not your only option. It is possible to continue to invest in your legacy ERP system, while integrating the most modern (and effective) data security and compliance solutions available on the market. Join us as we discuss: |
Listen to how White & Case benefited by extending the Manager Guided Self Service (GSS) and Direct Reports frameworks for use by Global HR Managers and Administrators. This enabled us to develop 25 new Guided Transactions to allow Global HR Managers/Administrators to submit Job related changes for approval before saving them to Job Data.
Oracle’s PeopleSoft Cloud Manager provides a simple user interface to migrate, provision, and manage your PeopleSoft instance in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. This session provides the top five tips for getting the most out of PeopleSoft cloud manager. Learn from past experiences of using PeopleSoft cloud manager in both Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Classic and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, including hundreds of environments built, automated PeopleSoft PeopleTools patching, and upgrades.
With the majority of PeopleSoft customers now on v9.2, PUM application and selective adoption means that the frequency for regression testing of their applications is increasing. This has led to the need for organisations to make a decision: Do they employ more testing staff or do they look for a way to automate as much of the testing as possible. The PeopleSoft application is delivered with the PeopleSoft Test Framework tool at no extra cost. Cedar would like to demonstrate to you how this tool can be leveraged to automate regression testing where appropriate, allowing the testing team to spend more time on analysis of the results and to perform a wider spread of tests helping to reduce the risks associated with system changes.
Seeking to retrieve the best out of your applications investments? This session will show you a great concept for maximizing your on premise capital and increasing the outcome quality. You will find out why Oracle Applications Unlimited will remain a trusted partner for JD Edwards, E-Business Suite & PeopleSoft and how to stay current with the latest releases.
Is PeopleSoft installed and configured according to the latest thinking around security? Are default settings exposing your PeopleSoft data to increased risk? When was the last time you looked at the failed attempted logins log? Did you know this even existed? Come and hear 5 things (maybe more) that you can do today to ensure you’re PeopleSoft system is as secure as it can be.
With a heightened focus on PII accountability, organizations are taking the opportunity to fully review their GRC policies to minimize risk factors. Because your ERP system contains sensitive data throughout hundreds of transactions, PLUS many organizations are broadening user access beyond their secure network, security professionals have been running into several challenges when implementing GRC policies in ERP systems:
- ERP systems have limited provisions to mask or redact sensitive data.
- ERP access cannot be controlled based on specific data attributes. For example, regulating access based on who is requesting access and the location from which access is being requested from.
- Tracking specific events or manually analyzing security logs can be time-consuming. Thus, putting organizations at risk of being non-compliant with breach remediation mandates (ex. 72-hour notifications via GDPR.)
- Requirements for fine-grained customized privileges makes role creation and administration very complex and difficult to maintain.
Join us as we discuss these challenges and present strategies for integrating robust access controls, apply least privileged policies, and leverage data visualization to ensure a strong GRC foundation in your ERP systems.
Over the last few years there has been an increasing emphasis on reporting and other analytics along with the need for a highly intuitive user experience. Payroll teams are expected to supply meaningful information to both management and external agencies on a regular basis and are required to perform their role with a high degree of efficiency. Recent functionality developments in both the reporting and process aspects of PeopleSoft Global Payroll mean that users are well positioned to meet these demands. This session will give a high level overview of the improved analytics available within the application and also showcase the updated Global Payroll WorkCenter functionality that can help you achieve those requirements.

With a legacy system that was not scalable, which was hosted on infrastructure that was not resilient, Hays created a major change programme to change not only their payroll application, but also their Finance, Management Information, File Transfer and Job Scheduling systems.
Having reviewed several options, the decision was made to implement PeopleSoft for Global Payroll, Finance and HCM, together with the Oracle OBIEE reporting solution. Hays run 2 payrolls in Ireland – an internal staff payroll for 150 staff and an external payroll of 3,500 for temporary workers we place with our clients. This session will discuss the challenges and benefits of implementing a new payroll solution in a country where there isn’t a PeopleSoft country extension. The project team needed to manipulate the GB country extension and ensure all Ireland tax legislation differences had been accounted for, as well as the nuances of the Ireland version of RTI known as PAYE modernisation. The PeopleSoft solution has delivered a number of benefits for Hays – including the ability to automate manual processes, enhanced security, scalability and resilience. |

The concept of “segregation of duties” has been a historical control mechanism that looks to make sure that appropriate checks and balances are in place so users, roles and permissions are appropriately set up and managed. The goal being to prevent any given user or role from being too privileged and able to subvert critical business processes. However, in the current regulatory environment, it’s not just about who can do what – it’s also about who can see what. Join us and learn more about the “Segregation of Access” controls you should put in place to ensure that only people that need to see sensitive data actually have the ability to do so – and that those access activities are accurately logged and reported. |
The introduction of Fluid approvals in PeopleSoft provides an opportunity to revisit and simplify your approval processes, and enable approvals for mobile devices to help minimise delays in approvals when approvers are on the move. Fluid first arrived in PUM10 for travel authorizations and work order service requests and has since been extended to other types of transaction and enhanced to, for example, drill down to detailed information, view attachments, and view the approval chain and other approver’s comments. It gives a ‘one stop shop’ for all Fluid enabled approvals with a single page showing all types of transaction awaiting approval. Fluid supports different form factors (screen sizes) more flexibly than previous mobile enabled pages in PeopleSoft. This session will give an overview of the functionality and the benefits it can bring to your business. |
