Fundraising for Byte Night 2019

On Friday, 4th October, over 30 Version 1 employees across our UK offices will be sleeping out for Byte Night, Action for Children’s largest annual fundraiser. Employees across Edinburgh, Belfast and Manchester will be supporting their local communities, helping change the lives of vulnerable young people throughout the UK.

With 126,000 young people in the UK homeless every year, Action for Children are finding the root causes of homelessness and provide intensive support to help families tackle their issues and stay together. The event is the UK’s largest corporate sleepout, with nearly 1,500 individuals from the technology and business sector taking part last year, raising over £1.2 million.

Over the last few months, Version 1 have been fundraising for the event, with internal events such as Pub Quizzes, Bake Offs and Sweepstakes taking place. Version 1 employees across all offices aim to raise over £10,000, which will be donated to Action for Children to prevent youth homelessness and help thousands of young people to build better lives.

Byte Night is part of Version 1’s CSR efforts under its Community First programme. This programme ensures that Version 1 is making a positive contribution to communities with a mission of “To improve employment opportunities in our communities by leveraging technology and our skills”. The event specifically aims tackle youth homelessness – a key barrier to employment for many.
