Job Description

People Success at Version 1 is driven by Group HR, Talent Acquisition and Resourcing, Learning & Development and Organisational Development teams. This role is part of the Group HR team, which is made up of 14 people, spanning across Edinburgh and Dublin. This HR Consultant role will have a focus on managing key processes and procedures and driving continuous improvement.

We participate in regular in-house internal audits and external customer audits across a range of sectors and part of this role will involve ensuring that we will pass those audits every time. The successful candidate will own the audit process and will represent the company as required both internally and externally as an authority on how we run our business in a compliant way. This role will ensure that we maintain a high level of compliance in terms of integrity and processing of data.

The work will vary from day to day and while there will be plenty of opportunities for team collaboration, you will be comfortable working independently on tasks and driving and delivering specific outcomes yourself. We would welcome applications from someone with an organized and logical approach to work, strong attention to detail and a deep appreciation of the precision required when driving the compliance agenda effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • You will support new employees in securing appropriate right-to-work visas or permits and relevant screening and will act as a dedicated point of contact for all employees and Managers.
  • Advise the HR team on local compliance matters.
  • Liaise with our external support network, Data Protection Agencies, tax specialists, Immigration specialists
  • Prepare for and conduct regulatory, internal and external audit checks.
  • Prepare and deliver responses to company bids and tenders reflecting adherence to compliance requirements. Working with the wider HR. 
  • Maintain our HR System to ensure legislative compliance and adherence to best practice in the processing and management of employee data.
  • Assisting management in compliance breaches and exposures management
  • Supporting and maintaining the development, implementation and maintenance of the internal audit policies
  • Support HR projects as required, facilitating the continuous improvement of the HR Department.
Qualifications

Essential criteria:

  • Experience in an HR role 
  • Good attention to detail is essential and a desire to drive compliant behaviours across the team and Company
  • Good ability to balance competing priorities essential
  • Excel skills are a must to do this role well
  • Experience of continuously improving methods and approaches to how we do things
  • Experience of a fast-moving organisation 
  • Experience and the ability to work independently but also knowing when to get the rest of the team involved - and likewise be willing to pro-actively involve yourself in group initiatives
  • Experience and enjoyment in details
  • Experience of work that requires compliance e.g. Visa, absence, policy 
  • The ability to deal with key Version 1 stakeholders e.g. GDPR and IR35

Preferred criteria:

  • You will ideally have experience in a multi-location work environment working effectively across a dispersed team and with a dispersed employee base
  • Ideally, CIPD qualified, training or alternative regional qualification
  • Experience in an HR role 
  • Experience in a similar role
