Data Analytics Consultant (Data Integration & Migration)

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a data engineer with experience working on large scale data integration and migration project. This project will involve working with a key Version 1 customer overseeing the migration of multiple HR, Payroll & ERP solutions to a single shared services platform in the Education sector. 

Your role will  require you to develop data migration strategies for in-scope institutions covering migration & upgrade of Core HR platform.Prepare data ingestion and data migration templates from CoreHR as well as implementing a data migration checklist and completing gap analysis for missing or archived data and propose solutions to close gaps during migration solution design.

In addition your responsilbilites will include

  • Gathering and standardising reference data from in-scope institutions
  • Identifying transitional data from other source systems and documenting source to target mappings.
  • Reviewing as-is data quality and designing process to implement data quality improvements.
  • Provide input to Technology Project Plan for the following activities: Reference Data Standardisation, Data Migration Strategy, Data Quality & Cleansing, ETL Processing, GDPR Requirements, Production of data sets for UAT, Parallel Run Activities, Production cut-over.
  • Design, Development & testing of ETL process to extract & transform data during migration
  • Infrastructure specification for migration and target shared services platform.
  • Oversee development of data validation scripts
  • Document lessons learned and apply learnings to future project stages.
  • Act as prime point of contact between business/functional stakeholders and Technology team.
  • Hands-on experience designing and delivering solutions using the Microsoft SQL Server platform (SQL Server Database, SQL Server Integration Services etc)
  •  Direct experience of building ETL processes using SQL Integration Services, Oracle Data Integrator or similar
  • Experience in large scale data integration & data migration projects in a variety of environments.
  • Experience working with CoreHR and other ERP platforms is desirable.
  • Experience working with Data Warehouse platforms, on-premise and  cloud is desirable but not essential.
  • Comprehensive understanding of data management best practices including demonstrated experience with data profiling, sourcing, and cleansing routines utilizing typical data quality functions involving standardization, transformation, rationalization, linking and matching.
  • ·Experience working in a Dev/Ops environment with tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio Team Services, Chef, Puppet or Terraform
