Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to be the Oracle Expert on a migration to the Azure Cloud within the UK Public Sector for a central government department. If you are interested in being the Oracle Solutions Architect in an Azure migration get in touch today! 

The Oracle architect is required to design and oversee the build of end to end Oracle stacks using the below mentioned Oracle technologies within the Azure platform.

The Oracle architect will be able to take existing system designs and pull together options for upgraded Oracle stacks. They should be able to take existing requirements and map them to current Oracle technologies.

  • Participate in the discovery phase depending on the successful candidates' start date
  • Pulling together the re-planning to include the design and migration strategy
  • Ownership for the standards of delivery and functional efficiency
  • Focus the team on technical standards and be the ideological technical driver 
  • Design and build of the Microsoft Azure Solution including hands on delivery of the migration and upgrade of the Oracle applications into the Microsoft Azure Cloud
  • Oversee and be involved in the installation and configuration of WebLogic to customer requirements
  • Supplying the development of third-party applications
  • Contribute and own the design and creation of the runbooks including migration for the entire technology stack (database and Middleware)
  • Database 10g / 12C
  • Fusion Middleware 12c
  • Happy to learn and develop an understanding of Oracle Software at pace
  • Experience in leading Oracle systems delivery including analysis, design, implementation, testing and support
  • Previous experience of the migration and upgrade of integrated Oracle solutions to public cloud
  • Current knowledge of, and experience with, systems integration methods and technologies
  • Able to articulate technical concepts in a concise and easy-to-understand manner
  • Red Hat Linux Administration, use of the operating system to install binaries and more
  • Azure awareness of the fundamentals (able to work with Azure architects)
  • Configuration experience in WebLogic (e.g. configuring for high availability or performance)
  • Oracle Application Server (IAS 10G)
  • Security Cleared eligible
