Java Developer

Version 1 has a great reputation for Digital application delivery. Due to our growth trajectory, we are now seeking a number of talented, driven and ambitious Java Developers to help drive innovation and product delivery within one of our key clients.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Java Developer not only to work with some of the best developers in this area, delivering critical new applications and integration solutions but you will also have the opportunity to enhance your skills and development expertise. 

Our client’s systems are being completely re-imagined from a monolithic architecture to a loosely coupled mini/microservice-based system. This is a green field development, using Java 11, the latest stable technologies for containerisation such as Red Hat OpenShift, full CI/CD pipelines and an Agile Scrum approach to delivery.

As a member of the team you will be responsible for:

• Mentoring other team members in clean code/TDD.
• Setting the standard for excellence in code quality.
• Helping the team technically with delivery using technologies new to them.
• Working in an Agile environment where you will be challenged and motivated.

Key Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or similar
• Core Java with recent experience on Java 8/11 (6 years+).
• Spring Boot
• Core Spring
• JUnit/Mockito
• Experience working with Microservice Architectures
• OpenAPI specifications and documentation (swagger)
• Angular 8 preferred

Desirable Skills

• Jenkins
• Red Hat SSO or KeyCloak
• Hazelcast
• Cucumber
• Selenium
• SonarQube
• Linux (specifically RedHat or CentOS)
• MariaDB or MySQL
• Elastic Stack
