{"id":3382,"date":"2022-09-20T14:52:34","date_gmt":"2022-09-20T14:52:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.version1.com\/en-us\/?p=3382"},"modified":"2022-09-20T14:52:34","modified_gmt":"2022-09-20T14:52:34","slug":"pci-compliance-within-aws","status":"publish","type":"case-studies","link":"https:\/\/www.version1.com\/en-us\/case-studies\/pci-compliance-within-aws\/","title":{"rendered":"PCI Compliance within AWS"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>This organisation is a worldwide travel retail platform and marketplace.<\/h2>\n<p>Version 1 supported the customer by delivering a Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance within AWS in a short time frame.<\/p>\n<h2>The Challenge<\/h2>\n<p>This organisation had recently changedtheir MSP and had a Payment Card IndustryAudit (PCI) within 3 months of commencing the project with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.version1.com\/\">Version 1<\/a>. It was crucial that Version 1not onlycarry out a review of the existing environmentbut alsoplan an approach to ensure that the AWS environmentwas incompliance withtherelevantdata security standardswithin a short time frame prior to the audit commencing.This would ensure smooth daily operations and business for the customer, without any roadblocks.<\/p>\n<h2>Solution Proposed by Version 1<\/h2>\n<p>In order to achieve PCI compliance prior to the audit, a number of AWS Cloud Native Services were enabled and used, with<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.aws.amazon.com\/securityhub\/latest\/userguide\/what-is-securityhub.html\">AWS Security Hub<\/a>being the keystone. This was used to evaluate and produce a list of remediations based off the following security standards.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CIS AWS Foundations Benchmark v1.2.0<\/li>\n<li>PCI DSS v3.2.1<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The remediation tasks were then carried out on the resources in the AWS environment.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tripwire.com\/\">Tripwire<\/a> was then implemented to further secure the AWS environment. Crowd strike AV was then rolled out across the infrastructure.<\/p>\n<h2>Real Difference<\/h2>\n<h3>\u2026Delivered<\/h3>\n<p>The key benefit and the biggest outcome of this was that the organisation achieved the PSI DSS Audit Certification for 2021.
