What is low code?<\/h2>\n

\u2018Low code\u2019 is disrupting the area of digital transformation worldwide. In this blog, we present you with the low down on ‘low code’.<\/p>\n

With the sheer pace of change, technology, apps, and data, organisations are faced with more and more challenges and choice around how to approach digitising their operations.<\/p>\n

Picture\u00a0traditional software development<\/strong> as the process through which applications are \u2018hand coded\u2019 or developed \u2018from scratch\u2019. At the other end of the scale is\u00a0\u2018no code\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 where end users act as \u2018citizen developers\u2019 and develop their own applications through a \u2018drag-and-drop\u2019 builder.<\/p>\n

Low code<\/strong>\u00a0is a midway point between these two approaches. Manual processes are automated, making it up to six times faster to develop an application, but developers can still be flexible. They are able to use all their analysis and design skills and collaborate to make enterprise-grade applications, which can be supported and extended to add value, much faster than before.<\/p>\n

Whilst low code requires expertise, it allows software developers to be more productive and efficient. \u201cRapid development\u201d and \u201cspeed to deploy\u201d are becoming the new buzz phrases.<\/p>\n

Within a low code development platform<\/a>, developers with some coding background can be productive within a week and non-coders can usually get started within around a month of training. Ultimately, low code allows Enterprise Development teams to be more agile, an approach Version 1 is offering more regularly to our customers, particularly those faced with rapidly changing or uncertain circumstances.<\/p>\n
