Version 1 and the Legal Ombudsman Partner on Machine Learning Exploration
Version 1 is proud to announce that our Innovation Labs will be partnering with the Legal Ombudsman for England and Wales (LeO) to explore how Hyperautomation (through the application of Machine Learning and AI) can make a real difference to their organisation.
Version 1 will employ Machine Learning algorithms to build a Case Age prediction model. We believe that this engagement in conjunction with the recently concluded Robotic Process Automation Proof Of Value for LeO will help to demonstrate the real value a Hyperautomation strategy can deliver.
The AI and RPA technology solution will empower LeO’s employees with tools and capabilities that enhance forecasting, productivity and operational efficiency.
Legal Ombudsman (LeO) for England and Wales is an independent and impartial body responsible for handling legal complaints received from the general public. LeO is a high-profile public body dealing with over 100,000 contacts per year.
Through a series of competitive tender processes using government procurement frameworks, Version 1 has successfully collaborated with Legal Ombudsman on multiple projects that have supported, and continue to support, the Legal Ombudsman in its important role for the UK public. A noteworthy collaboration included a Managed Service contract through which Version 1 stabilised and optimised a mission-critical Case Management System for LeO.
Harnessing the power of Hyperautomation
Hyperautomation refers to the mixture of automation technologies that exist to augment and expand human capabilities.
As our Head of Innovation and Technology, Ken MacMahon said in his recent post,
Hyperautomation deals with the application of advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), to increasingly automate processes and augment humans. Hyperautomation extends across a range of tools that can be automated, but also refers to the sophistication of the automation (i.e., discover, analyze, design, automate, measure, monitor, reassess.) As no single tool can replace humans, hyperautomation today involves a combination of tools, including robotic process automation (RPA), intelligent business management software (iBPMS) and AI, with a goal of increasingy AI-driven decision making.
Hyperautomation does not just refer to implementing tools to manage tasks. It requires collaboration between humans as well. This is because humans are vital decision-makers and can use the technology to interpret data and apply logic. The business benefits of Hyperautomation include:
