Version 1 exhibiting at UKOUG APPS 14 conference

Come over to stand 21 to say hello and get yourself a coffee and be in with a chance to win an iPad Mini. As well as having a stand in the exhibition hall we have three of our top Oracle experts delivering presentations on several, specialised topics:

Monday 8th 10:00 - Practical Usage of Public Clouds for Traditional Oracle Product

Chris Slattery is an Oracle Master with 23 years’ experience, 19 of which focused on the Oracle Database. He will be sharing his knowledge in operating the Oracle product set on cloud solutions to lower risk, cost and to enable a true IT focus for businesses.

He will be exploring two main offerings; Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure and their differentiators including licensing, migration paths and routes to, out of and between clouds. He will also be discussing best practice architecture in operating reliable Oracle Databases, Weblogic and E-Business Suite for maximum availability.

Monday 8th 16:00 – AWR Consolidation

Marcin Przepiorowski is an Oracle Ace and proud member of the Oak Table Network who specialises in the high availability and performance of Oracle Databases. An active member of the OUG community he is a frequent blogger and has presented at the Polish, Irish and Bulgarian Oracle User Group conferences.

He will be sharing his knowledge and experience in consolidating data from different databases and producing reports based on SQL queries. Many production DBA’s suffer when translating AWR reports for performance comparison purposes – he will discuss the new AWR Warehouse verses bespoke ‘DIY’ methods.

Wednesday 10th 09:00 – The Oracle Reporting Ecosystem – Build or Buy

Ken MacMahon is a TOGAF certified Enterprise Architect with more than 20 years’ experience with Oracle Technology. He has worked in many industries with the last 12 years delivering consulting for the E-Business Suite across most industries.

Ken’s talk will focus on the dilemma faced by most organisations implementing Oracle solutions and products – Buy ‘off the shelf’ or to custom build with the technology. He will be presenting the pros and cons, considerations, common pitfalls and best practice. In addition to this he will ask – what are the exceptional cases?
