Version 1 is One of the UK’s Best Super Large Workplaces!

Version 1 is delighted to announce that we have been named as a Best Workplace™ by Great Place to Work® UK for an impressive five years in a row.

The Great Place to Work®, Best Workplaces™ UK Awards took place in London on Wednesday April 26th 2023, with the Version 1 team out in force, including Lily Chan, Sat Gainda, Pamela Woods, Margaret Zhao, Kevin Gannon, Jessica Firth, Gemma Hopkins, Joanne Kinnaird, Kate Edmunds, and Arijit Chakraborthy.

We were delighted to be named 5th in the Best Super Large category alongside some of the biggest names in the business!

2023 is the first year Version 1 has been a part of the Super Large category, which is only given out to companies with more than 1,000 employees. This is a great result for our first year in the category and further proof that each and every one of our now more than 3,000 employees embodies our core values in everything we do.

Version 1 has also received a special recognition award for being included in the Great Place to Work® rankings for five consecutive years in the UK.

This award also showcases our considerable growth in the UK market over the last number of years. Our footprint has already grown considerably in 2023, with the recent acquisition of two expert UK-based technology firms – Automation Logic and Qubix.

The Best Workplaces UK award arrives in a marquee year for Version 1, as we were recently named the Best Large Workplace in Ireland by Great Place to Work®. This was the culmination of an amazing 12 consecutive years on the list, starting in 14th place all the way back in 2012 when we had just 300 employees. Amanda Kelly, Head of Employee Experience at Version 1, had this to say on our latest award win:  

“We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Version 1 has been recognised as a Best Workplace in the UK for the 5th consecutive year. This year is also the first year that we have been included in the Super Large Organisation category, as we now have over 1,000 people based in the UK, welcoming over 700 new members to our teams in the UK over the past 12 months! With this significant growth, it is truly a remarkable achievement to rank in fifth, solidifying our continued strong culture of trust and empowerment, with our core values being pivotal to all that we do.” 

After securing the top spot in GPTW Ireland earlier this year, we are also pleased to have ranked so highly in the UK standings too, Amanda continued: 

“To have achieved this on the back of our recent #1 GPTW Ireland ranking, in addition to announcing our 16th acquisition to date is not something we take for granted. These accomplishments are down to each and every person in Version 1, our daily interactions with each other and our customers, as well as the countless people-focussed initiatives and improvements happening across the organisation at any one time. To gain this GPTW certification, a survey is sent out to current employees which analyses various areas in the business such as Career Development, Wellbeing, Culture and Fair Treatment. We followed this with an internal survey to gain a deeper understanding of how employees were feeling and which areas we could improve on.

Our internal survey revealed that 90% of employees felt they could be themselves at work, with 91% saying Version 1 is an overall great place to work – just a couple of results which speak to a culture which has led to so much success at the Great Place to Work® awards.

Other results from the internal employee survey showed that 93% agree they receive empathy and support from their manager when needed, and 92% believe the organisation actively promotes mental and physical health among the employees here at Version 1. This represents the culture we have built and are continuing to develop as we welcome more people to the Version 1 team.
