Version 1 Specialist Solutions Now Available on AWS Marketplace

Version 1 today launches its specialist solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Marketplace.

Oracle Linux 7.6 is the initial solution Version 1 is launching in the online store. This solution is a hardened Oracle Linux installation with all the required RPM pre-installed for running Oracle Products certified on Oracle Linux 7.

This solution is a bedrock capability designed to meet repeated demand from Version 1 customers struggling to find a proven solution with the necessary capabilities to run Oracle products in the following manner:

• Installation and use of Oracle products on AWS; typically, this demands high effort in setting up a robust operating system with the correct mandatory prerequisites. This saves the customer a huge amount of time on configuring, building, and installing prerequisites.
• Using the latest release of Oracle Linux; this saves them time and effort
• Utilising a hardened version of Linux; this saves them time and effort
• Adopting the newest cloud features – e.g. NVMe disks; the difficult work of backing this support into Linux has all been carried out by Version 1

These purchases then appear on your regular AWS bill as part of the normal billing cycle.
