Version 1 was pleased to welcome Leona Knox of Solving Kids Cancer, a charity focused on improving the outcomes of children suffering neuroblastoma cancer, to its Belfast offices to accept a €5000 cheque.

The cheque was awarded to Solving Kids Cancer as the winner of the Version 1 Community Trust; a charitable initiative that supports the transformation of the local and global communities in which the Company operates. Each quarter, Version 1 employees submit video entries detailing the community causes which matter to them. The entries are open to public vote through a Facebook page which determines which causes receive the available grants ranging in value from €500 to €5000.

Version 1 IT Consultant Chris Colohan submitted the winning entry for Solving Kids Cancer having been touched by the story of Oscar Knox who died last year aged five after a two-and-a-half year battle with neuroblastoma.  Oscar’s mum Leona now dedicates her time to raising awareness and fundraising for this aggressive form of childhood cancer. Chris also arranged a charity pub quiz to raise additional funds for Solving Kids Cancer.
