Most organisations have a portfolio of applications that have evolved over many years or even decades to meet business requirements. While legacy applications form the backbone of many organisations they can hinder the adoption of new digital technologies such as cloud, IoT and mobile and the creation of the modern experiences today’s users expect. Businesses also face increasing pressure to change the way they operate; to react and adapt to change in this rapidly-paced Digital era.

There are many routes to take to overcome legacy challenges and limitations of newer existing applications that are becoming rapidly outdated with the pace of digital technologies and innovation today. A common misconception is that you need to fully replace an existing application to derive value for the business. But that doesn’t need to be the case. The business case for full replacement doesn’t always stack up and maximising existing investments while leveraging emerging Cloud technologies and innovation can be the wiser choice in terms of time, resources and costs.

In this webinar, Roger Whitehead, Version 1 UK Advisory Services, presented ‘Why Modernise Existing and Legacy Applications?’, focusing on building a business case for Application Modernisation, as opposed to full replacement. The webinar covered:

  • Key considerations for Application Modernisation projects
  • How to tie business value back to your IT estate
  • Application Modernisation architectures
  • A flavour of solutions possible for the top Modernisation pain-points
  • Real-world application and success from our customer engagements
