This milestone further strengthens Version 1’s position as the largest Irish-founded technology employer. The company has experienced significant growth in recent years, doubling its headcount from 1,500 employees in 2020 to more than 3,000 in 2023.

Founded in 1987, Qubix is a 170-person organisation specialising in Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and finance transformation. Headquartered in London, the company also has an established presence in the United States, India, Australia and Slovenia.

Colm Gillard, Managing Director of Version 1’s Oracle Practice, said:

“As an award-winning global Oracle partner with the highest levels of accreditation, Qubix brings to Version 1 more than 25 years of specialist expertise gained through over 1,000 successful financial transformation engagements. With deep expertise across every stage of the customer journey, Qubix strengthens our ability to help customers drive business agility and transformation. There are many positive synergies between Version 1 and Qubix, but it is Qubix’s commitment to excellence, its people and its customers that makes this such a strong partnership.”

An Oracle Partner Since 1995

Both Version 1 and Qubix bring more than 25 years of Oracle partnership experience.

Qubix has focused exclusively on Oracle technologies, helping organisations maximise value from Oracle ERP, EPM, Analytics and Database solutions. The company has delivered more than 1,000 successful customer engagements across Oracle Hyperion, Oracle Cloud EPM, Oracle ERP and Oracle Analytics Cloud projects.

Its team maintains some of the highest Oracle accreditations available globally, reinforcing its reputation as a trusted Oracle transformation partner.

Julian Owens, CEO of Qubix, commented:

“We set out to find a partner that would complement our business, expand our geographic reach and provide a strong future for our people. We believe Version 1 is that partner. Qubix brings a strong track record in finance transformation and business agility and will strengthen Version 1’s Oracle ERP capabilities. Together, we have exciting opportunities for growth across the Americas and Asia-Pacific. This partnership will deliver significant benefits for both our employees and our customers.”

The Next Chapter for Qubix

Following the acquisition, the Qubix team will integrate with Version 1 and support the next phase of growth across the combined organisation.

As part of this transition, Qubix International announced that Group Director of Strategy and Growth, Paul Johnston, would be leaving the business to pursue new opportunities following more than 11 years with the company.

Paul Johnston said:

“It is exciting to see where Qubix is today and the opportunities ahead. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside a talented, committed and selfless team, and I’m confident the future is bright for everyone at Qubix. This feels like the right time for me to take on a new challenge, and I’m grateful for everything I’ve learned and experienced during my time with the business.”

Accelerating Version 1’s Growth Strategy

The acquisition of Qubix became Version 1’s sixteenth acquisition and further reinforced the company’s growth ambitions.

The announcement follows the investment made in Version 1 by leading global private markets firm Partners Group in 2022, providing support for the next phase of expansion through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions.
