Version 1, a leading digital transformation partner, has been awarded a multi-million-pound contract to deliver a major digital transformation programme for Companies House , the UK Government’s executive agency responsible for maintaining the register of companies.

The agreement represents the largest technology contract awarded by Companies House to date. Up to 70 digital and cloud specialists will support the programme through agile delivery teams spanning business analysis, software development and user-centred design.

Companies House identified the need for an experienced partner capable of delivering large-scale, mission-critical government transformation programmes. Following a competitive procurement process under the Crown Commercial Services (CCS) Digital Specialists and Programmes Framework (RM6263), Version 1 was selected as the successful delivery partner.

Version 1 brings extensive public sector experience, having delivered major transformation programmes for organisations including HM Revenue & Customs, the Ministry of Justice and the Department for Transport.

Working in partnership with Companies House, Version 1 will modernise systems and processes, improve service efficiency through digitisation and automation, replace legacy technology, and deliver new systems to support legislative requirements and enhanced customer interactions.

Both organisations share a commitment to building inclusive, adaptable and customer-focused cultures, creating a strong foundation for delivering this large-scale transformation programme over the next four years.

“To be part of a transformation journey of this scale with Companies House, as public sector services continue to evolve and digitise, is a real privilege.

We have the experience, scale and capability to deliver meaningful innovation and lasting impact. Working closely with the Companies House team, we will help support its ambition to remain the world’s most innovative, open and trusted company registry while delivering exceptional user experiences.”
