Version 1 announced the acquisition of Beoley Mill Software Ltd (BMS), a specialist provider of JD Edwards services, for an undisclosed sum.
Based in Studley, Warwickshire, Beoley Mill Software became Version 1’s fifth UK acquisition and further strengthened the company’s position in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) market.
The acquisition formed part of Version 1’s ongoing UK expansion strategy, following its entry into the UK market in 2013.
Strengthening Version 1’s UK Growth Strategy
The acquisition followed several successful UK acquisitions, including the ERP business of London-based Database Service Provider Global Limited (DSP).
Following completion of the transaction:
- Version 1 employed approximately 900 people
- Around 300 employees were based in the UK
- Expected FY2017 revenues were projected at £87 million (€100 million)
The acquisition further expanded Version 1’s Oracle and ERP capabilities and reinforced its ambition to become a leading technology services provider across the UK and Ireland.

Founded in 1994 by Helen Rimmer and Stuart Rimmer, Beoley Mill Software was one of the leading specialist JD Edwards providers in the UK.
At the time of acquisition, the company:
- Generated revenues of approximately £7.5 million (€8.7 million)

Leadership and Integration
Following the acquisition:
- Beoley Mill Software continued to trade under its existing name.
- Co-founder Stuart Rimmer stepped down from his role as CEO and left the business.
- Helen Rimmer joined the Version 1 management team.
Helen continued to lead customer relationships and business development for the JD Edwards practice while also supporting the integration of the two organisations.
Her appointment ensured continuity for customers and strengthened Version 1’s leadership capabilities within the ERP market.
Building a Market-Leading Oracle and ERP Practice
The acquisition represented an important milestone in Version 1’s wider acquisition strategy and strengthened its position within the Oracle ecosystem.
Combined with Version 1’s existing Oracle expertise, the addition of Beoley Mill Software created one of the strongest JD Edwards capabilities in the UK and Ireland, enhancing the company’s ability to support organisations running complex enterprise applications and business-critical ERP environments.
