Version 1 Awarded Five-Year Infrastructure Management Contract
Version 1 announced a multi-million euro managed services agreement with Irish Continental Group (ICG).
The contract will see Version 1 assume full management responsibility for the shipping and transport group’s business-critical IT infrastructure over a five-year period, helping support the systems that underpin ICG’s operational and commercial activities.
Supporting a Mission-Critical Transport Business
Irish Continental Group is one of Ireland’s leading shipping, transport and logistics organisations, providing passenger, freight and shipping services between Ireland, the United Kingdom and continental Europe.
The agreement extends Version 1’s relationship with ICG and broadens its responsibilities to include the management, transformation and optimisation of the infrastructure supporting the organisation’s key revenue-generating and operational systems.
Commenting on the agreement, Seamus McCarville, Head of IT at Irish Continental Group, said:
“Our mission at ICG is to deliver a reliable, timely and high-quality customer experience.
Our IT organisation is more important than ever in enabling that mission as we continue to pursue operational excellence and innovation.
This contract enhances and extends our trust in Version 1 into the management and transformation of the infrastructure that supports our core operational and revenue-generating systems.”
Driving Continuous Improvement and Transformation
The agreement also introduces a structured framework for ongoing service improvement and infrastructure transformation.
Brendan McGettrick, Head of Commercial Sector at Version 1, commented:
“This agreement not only extends the scope of our responsibilities to the infrastructure tier at ICG, but also creates a measurable mechanism for the continual transformation of systems and operational processes across the organisation.”
He added:
“We are delighted to have been awarded this contract and look forward to continuing our strong relationship with Irish Continental Group over the next five years.
This new agreement reflects the significant growth we are experiencing within our Infrastructure Management and Cloud Consulting practices.”
Strengthening Version 1’s Managed Services Business
The contract represented another significant milestone for Version 1’s growing managed services and cloud consulting operations.
By taking responsibility for mission-critical infrastructure environments, Version 1 continues to help organisations improve service reliability, modernise technology platforms and optimise operational performance through strategic managed services partnerships.
