Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and visionary individual as our Lead – Microsoft Development Capability for India Delivery Center (IDC). You will lead our .NET and Azure software engineering capability, driving innovation, excellence, and efficiency in delivering modern cloud-enabled solutions.

This is a senior leadership role that blends technology strategy, delivery assurance, capability growth, and people development. You’ll provide hands-on leadership when required, translate technical challenges for non-technical stakeholders, and ensure high-quality, secure, and scalable solutions.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Accountable to hire the best in class architects, tech leads, developers who align with Version 1 core values.
  • Accountable for high chargeability and utilization of staff in the Microsoft-Dev capability.
  • Accountable for engineering delivery success through proactive technical governance, risk mitigation, and engineering and quality assurance for strategic and large accounts.
  • Demonstrates high personal commitment to customer delivery success.  Personally intervene in projects where Tech Leads or Architects or senior developers need support to enhance speed and quality of deliverables; provide technology / process  coaching and drive the technical delivery teams until  desired project goals are met.
  • Drive AI assisted innovation and adoption of AI Agentic  Tools and Gen AI platforms  in every stage of projects and all to automate all possible tasks (design, development, testing, deployment, debugging, documentation, reporting etc.) to reduce cycle time and increase right first time measure of deliverables.
  • Drive adoption of modern engineering practices like CI/CD, test automation, API-first design, cloud-native DevOps, and observability in projects.
  • Accountable to implement project technical delivery assurance frameworks (e.g., 4Eyes Process, estimation templates, delivery playbooks, best practices, checklists, reviews , RAID logs , RCA and improvement/prevention actions).
  • Build a motivated engaged inclusive workforce.
  • Accountable for people upskilling/cross-skilling, certifications, and career-level/role linked competence development.
  • Accountable for identification and retention of top talent.
  • Enable rotation of tenured people in new and strategic accounts / positions and backfilling by other new/junior resources without compromising quality and velocity of the projects. 
  • Has to have special focus on grooming early career associates to become productive and billable in projects.
  • Actively support global bids by contributing to architecture, estimation, delivery model, and schedule definition.
  • Participate in solutioning, proposal reviews, bid turnaround (KPI), and PoC development.
  • Drive thought leadership via blog posts, white papers, and at least 1 external forum/conference participation annually.
  • Lead at least one hackathon or innovation sprint each year and contribute to idea generation for cross-skilling/upskilling opportunities.
  • Responsible for tracking all improvement actions in people, process, technology, delivery, innovation domains to closure (not just a starter of ideas but embodying a finisher mindset).

Qualifications

  • Minimum 14 years of IT experience, with 10+ years in .NET/Azure engineering.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with .NET Core/6+, ASP.NET, Azure PaaS (Functions, API Mgmt., App Services, Cosmos DB, etc.), microservices, and modern front-end stacks (React/Angular/Blazor).
  • Strong DevOps understanding (CI/CD, GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps, IaC via Bicep/ARM/Terraform).
  • Thrives as people leader and can also groom next level leadership in their team.
  • Thrives in matrix model of organizations and does not restrict themselves in defined roles and responsibilities at the cost of customer delivery success.
  • Strong  experience in using Agentic AI development tools and Gen AI platforms.
  • Obsessed with innovation to reduce cycle time of any tasks and improve right-first-time measure of any deliverable.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience in supporting sales, pre-sales, and project estimation.
  • Exceptional communication, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness to travel across India, Ireland, UK, Europe and the US as needed or working in different time zones from India as per project demands.
  • Committed to follow hybrid work policy of Version 1.
  • Experience delivering to customers in Banking / Financial Services / Insurance / Manufacturing / Health care / Pharma domains is desired but not mandatory.
