Two Version 1 Consultants Selected for Exclusive Early Adoption Programme for SharePoint 2010
27 October 2009
Version 1, the leading Irish IT Consulting and Services Company, today announced that two of its consultants were part of a select team of 20 seconded to Microsoft Headquarters in Washington, USA, to work on the product development programme for SharePoint 2010. As the only partner in the country participating in the SharePoint 2010 programme, Version 1 has gained valuable product insights it can share with SharePoint customers in the Irish marketplace.
Version 1 Microsoft Development Practice Manager Aidan Mullen explains, "Our participation in this programme is extremely important for Version 1 because it gives us access to resources, support and knowledge that helps us to align our customer's SharePoint deployments to the very latest product releases. Version 1's relationship with Microsoft has gone from strength to strength and we are looking forward to the customer reaction to the release of SharePoint 2010 in the first half of next year. The latest version of Microsoft’s ground-breaking business collaboration platform, SharePoint 2010 promises to connect and empower people, cut costs through unified infrastructure and allow for business solutions to be rapidly deployed."
The two Technical Architects represented Version 1 at the intensive, week-long training session where they had the opportunity to meet and work with the 2010 team and gain hands-on experience with the product. They are now training the rest of the Version 1 SharePoint team and the company expects to be 2010 ready well before the product launches next year. Version 1 will be holding a number of SharePoint 2010 launch events in the coming months to share insights into the business opportunities and challenges 2010 poses.
Version 1 has already established itself as a major player in Microsoft Application Development with expertise in .NET technologies, SharePoint and Dynamics CRM and large-scale solutions delivered to such clients as the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland, Sustainable Energy Ireland and the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland. The company's participation in the programme further cements its strong partnership with Microsoft and comes on the back of the company's appointment to the Accredited Partner program for Dynamics CRM and a recent announcement naming Version 1 as the first Microsoft Services Ready Certified Partner in Ireland.
