Compliance with Modern Slavery Act 2015
The Modern Slavery Act 2015 (‘the Act’) came into effect in October 2015 to stamp out slavery which still exists in the modern era. It includes a duty on businesses to play their part in stopping modern slavery in global supply chains. Version 1 is committed to being a responsible business and complying with the requirements of the Act.
Section 54 of the Act requires that Version 1 to publish a statement on our website of the steps taken during the financial year to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in any of our supply chains or in any part of our own business. Suppliers are those businesses that supply either goods or services (or both) to Version 1.
- Consistent with the requirements of the Act, we have ensured that:
- Contractors working with Version 1 have been subject to reference & background checks conducted via an independent external third party.
- Suppliers working with Version 1 are required to assure that they are compliant
- Risk assess all new suppliers to Version 1 to ensure they are compliant with the Act
