4 Years in a Row; Version 1 continues to grow as a Best Workplace in the UK

The 2022 Awards

At Version 1, we are extremely proud to be named the 6th Best Workplace in the United Kingdom, following last night’s Great Place to Work™ UK Awards in London. Having previously placed as the 20th Best Place to Work in the 2021 awards, this recognition is a testament to our commitment to continuously improving and our employees who fully embody our culture and values. Which helps make Version 1 such a positive place to work.

There isn’t one magic formula that has allowed up to make such a remarkable jump from 20th position to 6th. It is the interactions our managers and our people have every single day, whether that’s having a supportive career conversation, or checking in with our new joiners. It’s our constant drive for improvement from our increased career development opportunities, our new ESG initiative, creating personalised moments that matter for our people. All have those conversations, events and initiatives regardless of how big or small they are all add up to make a significant positive impact on the experience of our people.

Great Place to Work® is a global analytical authority on high-trust high-performance workplace cultures and showcases organisations that hold a steadfast focus in ensuring their workplaces are the best that they can be. The awards are a testament to companies and employees who relentlessly strive to create a positive work culture, something Version 1 is integrally focused on.

Amanda Kelly, Head of Employee Experience at Version 1 commented on what this win means for the organisation

We are incredibly proud to be recognised as a Best Workplace in the large organisation category for the 4th consecutive year, and to achieve a 6th place ranking, our best ever result is the icing on the cake.

Everyone in the organisation has worked incredibly hard in helping us continuously enrich our culture of trust and empowerment, they have driven our Core Values, delivered a great experience for our customers and created a sense of belonging for everyone at Version 1. It’s thanks to these collective efforts that we have been able to achieve this outstanding result.

This result solidifies the fact that we have a fantastic culture where our people are empowered to build a successful career at Version 1 and can be themselves. During this period of significant growth, there is no better time to join Version 1 with so many great opportunities to grow and develop. When 92% of our people say that Version 1 is a great place to work, we must be getting a lot right.

Mukesh Sachdev, Commercial Director at Great Place to Work congratulated Version 1 on this achievement

A very well done on coming 6th compared to 20th last year as a UK Best Workplace™ ! – In light of the ever changing external environment over the last couple of years you continue to cement yourselves as a workplace and culture that is obviously continuing to be valued by your colleagues so  congratulations on this as relatively speaking, this is a huge leap

Continued Growth in the UK

It’s been a very busy start to 2022 for Version 1 in the UK as the certification closely follows the announcement of 200 new jobs, an Accelerate Academy, and a new tech hub in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

In February of this year, Version 1 acquired UK-based service design and digital transformation specialists Evoco as part of its ambitious growth strategy. The purchase was the 13th for Version 1 to date, following the recent acquisition of Belfast-based Neueda. Evoco will become part of Version 1’s rapidly-growing UK Digital, Data, and Cloud practice adding specialist expertise in service design and digital transformation in the public sector.

We’re proud to announce that Version 1 is now an accredited Living Wage employer. The Living Wage rates in both the UK and Ireland are independently calculated to reflect the cost of living. We are proud to join other employers in making this ongoing commitment to our staff. All eligible staff will now receive a minimum hourly rate of €12.90 in Ireland, £9.90 in the UK, and £11.05 in London, which increases annually.

Version 1 has seen significant growth in recent years and added to its global customer base, particularly in the UK market, where they have enjoyed a huge surge in demand, serving a wide range of public and private sector clients
