This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced AWS Migration Specialist to join our Digital, Data and Cloud Platform Practice. A permanent position, you will lead a team delivering large scale migration services to AWS for key Version 1 customers.

Job Description

Our AWS Practice is growing we are looking for a migration specialist to join us and focus on support our clients to migrate their enterprise level infrastructure and security projects to the AWS Platform. You will be working to communicate technical designs, issues and resolutions to both technical and non technical teams. This role will be the key part in ensuring an smooth and high quality solution is delivered. 

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Migration of Version 1 Customer datacentres to AWS
  • Customer collaboration on migration and discovery workshops and documentation
  • Architecting AWS across multiple technologies such as AWS, Azure, Open Source and Oracle.
  • Migration planning exercises and effort estimation for projects/ proposals
  • Engagement with Version 1 partners such as AWS and 3rd party tool vendors
  • Documentation of solutions (e.g., architecture, configuration and setup).
  • Working within a project management/agile delivery methodology in a leading role as part of a wider team.
  • Assisting in providing post migration support for customers
  • Provide effective knowledge transfer and upskilling to relevant customer personnel to ensure an appropriate level of future self-sufficiency
  • Transition of projects to Version 1 Managed Services teams or customer support teams.
  • Get involved in marketing such as writing articles, delivering webinars and presenting content

You will have:

  • Proven consultancy experience working for an AWS Partner system integrator
  • Direct experience of large Datacentre migrations to AWS
  • Experience of setting up, deploying and managing multiple environments to support agile development approaches.
  • Possession of AWS certifications

It is essential that you have strong, in-depth and demonstrable hands-on experience with the following technologies:

  • AWS Migration Hub, AWS Application Discovery Service, AWS Control Tower, AWS Migration Pattern Library, AWS DataSync (DataSync), AWS Transfer for SFTP (AWS SFTP), AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery, AWS and its relevant build, deployment, networking and security technologies in cloud and hybrid environments, AWS Platform as a Service products, AWS Operational and Monitoring tools, Amazon S3 Transfer Acceleration
  • Migration Evaluator, CloudEndure
  • Strong experience in DevOps tooling, Understanding of Database technology, both Microsoft & Oracle, Understanding of Application Architecture, Knowledge Windows Virtual Machines & Linux, Experienced in the design and delivery of enterprise level Highly Available solutions.
