Job Description

As a Global Mobility Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the global mobility programs and assignments within our organisation. Your primary focus will be on facilitating smooth employee relocations, ensuring compliance with immigration and tax regulations, and providing support to internationally mobile employees. This role requires a strong knowledge of global mobility policies, excellent communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex international regulations.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Manage and Coordinate Global Mobility Assignments:
    • Oversee the end-to-end process of global mobility assignments, including relocation, immigration, tax, and compliance.
    • Collaborate with HR, payroll, and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of international assignments, including compensation and benefits.
  2. Provide Guidance and Support:
    • Advise employees and managers on global mobility policies, processes, and requirements.
    • Ensure compliance with immigration laws and regulations in collaboration with external legal counsel or immigration specialists.
    • Coordinate work permit and visa applications for international assignments.
  3. Vendor Management:
    • Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors, such as relocation providers, immigration firms, and tax consultants.
  4. Training and Communication:
    • Conduct briefings and trainings for employees and managers on global mobility policies, processes, and cultural considerations.
  5. Employee Support:
    • Assist employees and their families during the relocation process, guiding housing, schooling, healthcare, and other relocation-related matters.
    • Support repatriation processes and career development for employees returning from international assignments.
  6. Policy Development and Compliance:
    • Assist in developing and updating global mobility policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure alignment with business objectives and compliance with regulations.
    • Stay updated with immigration laws, tax regulations, and cultural considerations in various countries to provide accurate advice and support.
    • Ensuring Version 1 is compliant with all legal and visa regulations in the various regions in which it operates.
  7. Record Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records related to global mobility assignments.
  8. Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a seamless employee experience throughout the global mobility process.
  9. Other HR-Related Projects:
    • Assist in other HR-related projects and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

Ideally you will possess the following qualifications, skills, knowledge, and attributes:

  • Proven experience as a Global Mobility Specialist or in a similar role, managing global mobility programs and assignments.
  • In-depth knowledge of global mobility policies, immigration laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • A track record of success in a similar role is essential, with good experience in finance, compensation & benefits, or human resources and an in-depth knowledge of Global Mobility terminology and best practice.
  • Highly driven with emphasis on attention to detail, accuracy and the needs, objectives and challenges of internal and external stakeholders coupled with the ability to see the broader picture.
  • A highly collaborative team ethos is essential.
  • Highly numerate with strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to prepare, and evaluate data well and quickly to generate meaningful insights.
  • An innovative and agile approach to policy and program design, development and practical implementation experience is essential.
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills.
  • Proficiency in other MS Office applications

Location: This role can be delivered in a hybrid nature from one of these offices: Belfast, Birmingham, Newcastle, Edinburgh or London.
