Senior QA Lead

Job Description

Version 1 is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic QA Community of Practice Lead who is passionate about Quality Assurance of the end-to-end delivery of business applications and the supporting capabilities. Version 1 is a Microsoft, Oracle, and AWS Partner and have an increasing number of significant UK clients; with whom we are working to deliver solutions across those technologies.

You will help us grow our Quality Assurance and Testing capability, with a particular focus on the UK market place to support our ambitious growth plans and become a contributing member of a highly skilled and motivated team. You would work with our current and prospective client base, delivering projects, and also helping grow our portfolio of service offerings. Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Collaborate with the other stakeholders to define the test objectives, organizational test policies, test strategies, and test plans in an Agile development environment
  • Planning, monitoring, and control of the testing activities and tasks.
  • Lead, guide and monitor the analysis, design, implementation, and execution of the test cases, test procedures, and test suites.
  • Ensuring product and quality control are up to standard at all stages of the project and sprints
  • Estimate the testing to be done and negotiate with management to acquire the necessary resources.
  • Managing the defect triage.
  • Advise when test automation is appropriate and, if it is, plan the effort, select the tools, and ensure training of the team.
  • Ensure proper configuration management of the deliverables produced and traceability of the tests to the test basis.
  • Ensure the test environment is put into place before test execution and managed during test execution.
  • Schedule the tests for execution and then they monitor, measure, control, and report on the test progress, the product quality status, and the test results, adapting the test plan and compensating as needed to adjust to evolving conditions.
  • A champion and proponent of  Software Engineering Best Practices, Exploratory Testing, Security and Vulnerability Testing and is aware of the latest trends related to Quality Assurance (both manual and automated) and supporting technology,
Qualifications
  • Exposure to specialist software testing, e.g. Application Security Testing, Performance Testing, Operational Acceptance Testing, User Acceptance Testing
  • Existing UK Government security clearance at SC level is needed
  • Works well under strict time pressure and understands when to compromise and when to escalate.
  • Ability to work in Agile methodology to define test strategy working in sprint/Scrum style.
  • Attention to detail, highly motivated.
  • Escalates technical issues in a timely fashion.
  • High degree of self-motivation. Must be able to plan and execute work both independently and as a team member.
  • Comprehensive understanding of functional and non-functional testing strategies.
  • Proven experience in delivering or being responsible for the delivery of Quality Assurance with a stronger component of various aspects of Test Automation, integrated with automated CI/CD pipelines
