Secure cloud data exchange and analytics platform for a global risk data association

The challenge

A global association serving leading financial institutions needed to modernise its core risk‑data exchange service, which enables members to submit and benchmark sensitive operational loss data.

The legacy platform limited reliability, scalability and the speed at which new data products could be introduced. This created growing risk around member experience, confidentiality and contracted service levels, while increasing operational overhead through manual handling and fragmented processes.

The solution

We designed and delivered a cloud‑native data exchange and analytics platform on AWS, providing a secure and scalable foundation for the next generation of the association’s service.

The platform supports secure, governed ingestion of member submissions through protected endpoints, with encrypted storage across raw and curated data zones. Automated validation and transformation pipelines ensure data quality, while a robust analytics layer enables reporting and insight for both internal teams and members.

Operational processes are tightly integrated with ITIL‑aligned service management, including incident, problem and change workflows, ensuring the platform is delivered as a managed service with clear accountability.

Security, governance and service reliability

Data is processed using managed ETL services and workflow orchestration, with comprehensive monitoring and logging providing full visibility of data flows and platform health. Role‑based access controls, detailed audit trails and encryption protect member confidentiality and support regulatory expectations.

Clear data‑retention and archival policies are embedded into the platform, aligned to both regulatory requirements and the association’s contractual obligations.

The service operates under well‑defined SLAs, with availability, response and restore targets tracked through KPI dashboards and regular service reviews.

The outcome

The modern platform has significantly improved reliability, scalability and responsiveness, reducing operational risk and eliminating manual handling of submissions. It provides a strong foundation for the association to introduce new data‑driven products and services for its global membership, while protecting sensitive data and meeting stringent service commitments.
