Describe your average day as a Java Developer at Version 1?
My day starts with checking emails to ensure there are no important overnight developments related to our project. We then have stand up calls, updates with the Scrum Master and I also attend a total or 3 or 4 fixed meetings throughout the week solving issues raised by the customers. The rest of my week is usually coding using Intellj IDE. I have any free time I mostly try to learn new technologies by going through tutorials and video lectures, or I also recently have undertaken developing extra skills Python in Anaconda with jupyter IDE and Visual Studio code for Angular.

What advice would you give to someone looking to become a Java Dev at Version 1?
It really depends on the individual interests of every applicant and which domain they want to grow their career in technology-wise. Across the board though, a basic knowledge and a clear understanding of widely-used technologies is important; understanding structure and OOP concepts will help, plus you can start basic coding with Eclipse IDE to kickstart a successful career in the field.

Describe your experience of Version 1 so far?
I joined Version 1 last year as an Azure Platform Engineer. The journey so far has been exhilarating, I got to work with various data related technologies in Azure. Apart from that, we had various events with almost every festival celebrated, mostly on Teams or Zoom these days :) One of the best things about working at Version 1 is that they value people, their employees. The major highlight of this organisation is that it is a group of highly ambitious people and even more ambitious leaders who have immense faith and trust in their employees.

Describe your average day as a .Net Developer at Version 1?
My average day starts off with spending time researching the latest technological news followed by catching up on emails and preparing a task list to be accomplished for the day. We have daily stand up meetings with the team on how we have progressed and to identify any blockers to be tackled. I undertake coding in various technologies for the majority of the day. I also dedicate an hour after work to train myself in new technologies by taking up online courses to keep challenging myself.

What advice would you give to someone looking to join your team?
Openness and honesty is key - everyone has technical expertise in various areas but very little have the openness to own up and be true to themselves and their team. A passion for learning is also important.
