NICS ICT Conference 2017

The conference is the main Public Sector conference in Northern Ireland aimed at senior management from the IT Profession in the Civil Service and the wider public sector.   The 2017 conference theme was ‘Fact and Fiction: a new reality’, and explored the technologies currently available, the developing technology landscape and the uses and benefits of public sector service delivery. This is an opportunity to challenge attendees to be radical and make changes to delivery and technology models.   Version 1 had the stand over the 2 days (17th and 18th), showcasing the best of what we have to offer in Managed Services, Digital Technologies and Cloud Services.   Version 1’s Head of Data Analytics, Paul Norris hosted a spotlight session at 11:05 am on the 18th of October. The session was called “Open Source Data Science in Practice” . Paul spoke about trends in this space and ways to maintain security, governance and control while remaining agile in the open source data analytics space
