Oracle has announced a Continuous Innovation release model for Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2 and above, delivering ongoing applications and underlying technology stack updates without a major upgrade.  At the same time, Oracle announced Premier Support for Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2 onwards until at least 2030.

This means that Oracle E-Business Suite customers already running on 12.2 can continue to access new application functionality and adopt the latest versions of underlying technology for years to come, without the time and expense of a major release upgrade.

So, what does this mean for E-Business Suite customers on an earlier version of E-Business Suite seeking to maximise their ERP investment? If it is to follow in the footsteps of other Oracle products on a Continuous Innovation Model, E-Business Suite will change significantly to satisfy extensibility and modernisation desires from 12.2 onwards, with an ongoing delivery of features and functionality to satisfy customers’ expectations for perpetual innovation and business growth – without the time and expense historically required to upgrade the product.

Version 1 ERP Consultant Jim Venn hosted a webinar on the 6th of December 2018 exploring the questions and concerns of E-Business Suite end-users and present in more detail the new E-Business Suite Roadmap following these significant announcements.
