What to Expect at AWS re:Invent 2019

Version 1

AWS's Premier Learning Conference

Taking place between 2nd December to the 6th December, AWS re:Invent 2019 is a learning conference hosted by Amazon Web Services for the global cloud computing community. The event will feature keynote announcements, training and certification opportunities, access to more than 2,500 technical sessions, a partner expo, after-hours events, and more for AWS developers and engineers, system administrators, systems architects, and technical decision-makers.

AWS Launchpad

New products are expected to be announced at re:Invent this year, with AWS Launchpad streaming between 11:00AM – 6:00PM PT Tuesday to Thursday during re:Invent. A live Q&A session will also be streamed, featuring AWS experts. The AWS Launchpad stream can be found here.

AI and Machine Learning Summit

A half-day summit will be held at this year’s event, where visitors can hear from leaders in Artifical Intelligence and Machine Learning. Topics range from bias and ethics in AI, to how Machine Learning can be applied to solve some of our toughest societal challenges. Hosted at the Venetian Theater, Las Vegas, the Summit is designed for everyone from data scientists to business professionals, with updates delivered on the latest breakthroughs and future possibilities. To attend the Machine Learning Summit, visitors will need to register for reserved seating.

Executive Keynotes

Keynotes at re:Invent 2019 will deliver the latest news about AWS products and services, inspiring visitors to push boundaries and innovate within the Cloud. Below are some of the Executive Keynotes that will take place throughout re:Invent. All four of these keynotes will be live-streamed by AWS – sign up to watch these keynotes here.

Monday – 2nd December – Monday Night Live

Peter DeSantis, VP of AWS Global Infrastructure and Customer Support will be delivering a keynote on how AWS has optimized its cloud infrastructure to run the world’s most demanding workloads. Peter will also share an update on the growth and scale of AWS’ global infrastructure.  The first 1,000 attendees to this keynote will also receive a Monday Night Live t-shirt.

Tuesday – 3rd December – Andy Jassy

Andy Jassy, CEO of AWS will be delivering a highly anticipated keynote on Tuesday, December 3rd. Presenting at Venetian Hall A at 8am-11am, Andy will share his insight and the latest news about AWS customers, products, and services.

Wednesday – 4th December – Global Partner Summit

On the 4th December, Doug Yuem, Head of AWS Worldwide Channels and Alliances, will be sharing how AWS Partners are helping customers transform and innovate using the AWS cloud at the Global Partner Summit Keynote. Doug’s keynote will also feature a ‘Fireside Chat’ with Andy Jassy.

Thursday – 5th December – Dr. Werner Vogels

Dr. Werner Vogels, CTO of Amazon.com, will be delivering a keynote in which visitors can learn about the technical underpinnings of AWS services and the architectural design investments Amazon is making. The first 1,000 guests in the keynote line will also get a special piece of ‘swag’.

Amazon’s Engineering Practices

Amazon principal engineers will be delivering re:Invent sessions showcasing how Amazon builds its services. These sessions will provide an in-depth insight into how Amazon builds organisations, processes and systems to enable rapid innovation, with the full session list here.
