Rishin Mitra
Applications Developer

I have around 7 years of experience of working as an Applications Developer with various Fortune 500 companies. I moved to Belfast from India, in January 2018 and have been working in Version 1 since. Presently, I am working in the Oracle ERP Technical Support Team for a major pharmaceutical company, with a team of 32 consultants.

It has been an enriching experience to work for Version 1, especially in such a multi-cultural environment amidst such a knowledgeable and committed bunch of people. There is plenty of scope to learn new technologies.
If one has the self-drive and desire to learn, then he/she is always encouraged to build on the knowledge and take their career to the next level. Lots of employee engagement programs takes place throughout the year providing ample opportunity to engage with colleagues outside work.

Last, but not the least, Belfast is a great hub for hiking trips around Northern Ireland. The locals that I have gotten to know in this short span, have been some really cool people, and our friendships have truly enriched my life.

A little bit about Belfast

Belfast is made up of 4 quarters. The Belfast quarters are distinctive cultural zones within the city of Belfast, Northern Ireland, whose identities have been developed as a spur to tourism and urban regeneration. These "quarters" differ from the traditional districts into which Belfast is divided.

Cathedral Quarter
Traditionally, the Cathedral Quarter was the centre of Belfast's trade and warehousing district. It still retains some of Belfast's oldest buildings and thoroughfares which fell into decline in the last century, but more recently it has re-emerged as a dedicated 'cultural quarter' of Belfast.
Titanic Quarter
Titanic by name, Titanic by nature. The Titanic Quarter is redefining what it means to work, live, play and stay in central Belfast. Reflecting the achievements of history with the latest design approaches, it's futuristic mix of residential, commercial, tourism, education and retail space has provided Belfast with a new urban quarter
Queens Quarter
Named after Queen's University Belfast, it is the southern-most quarter in Belfast. Many cultural events take place in this area of the city and in part because of the choice of venues and theatres that are located in this area.
Gaeltacht Quarter
The Gaeltacht Quarter (An Cheathrú Ghaeltachta) in Belfast, Northern Ireland, is an area surrounding the Falls Road in the west of the city. A Gaeltacht is an area where the Irish language is widely spoken. The area aims to promote the Irish language and provide tourist attractions associated with it, as well as Irish culture.
