Version 1 win big at Tech Excellence Awards

Version 1 was delighted to pick up an award at the Gala Ceremony in the category “Public Sector Project of the Year” with customer Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland. Accepting the award via video link, Keatinge said, “Thanks to Mediateam for presenting me with this award... The great thing about being CEO is that I get to come and accept these awards when really all the work is done by others. So a big thanks to the Version 1 Management Team and the Version 1 Staff for putting me in a position where I get to collect this award.” The Person of the Year award was selected by an independent panel of industry experts. Commenting on their selction, Chairman of the Tech Excellence Awards judging committee, Eoin O'Driscoll said: "Justin Keatinge is an outstanding ambassador for the ICT sector in Ireland illustrating how an indigenous IT Services company can prosper and expand in the Ireland, the UK market and beyond". Now in its 15th year, the Tech Excellence Awards programme recognises excellence in the IT sector. Previous recipients of the ‘Person of the Year’ award have included Regina Moran of Fujitsu, Jim O’Hara of Intel, Michael Daly of IBM and David O’Meara of Havok. There was further good news for Version 1 as we also received the award for IT Project of the Year (Public Sector) for its collaboration with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland for the implementation of a national system to record & maintain all energy efficiency measures undertaken in the state. It is the first PaaS implementation for a public sector authority and it further illustrates commitment to eGovernment. Commenting on the project SEAI IT Manager Aidan Keogh said: “With the implementation of our new Energy Credits Management Systems, we wanted to embrace the latest cloud technologies to provide the highest levels of system availability for our stakeholders. With our long standing technology partners Version 1, we implemented an innovative cloud solution (Microsoft Azure) providing a flexible technology platform & higher service levels to meet our business demands while ensuring we maintained a value for money approach.”
