Version 1 Hiring FAQ's.
Answering the most common hiring FAQ's and questions about the Version 1 application process
At Version 1 we welcome multiple applications – feel free to apply for as many roles as you like!
You can apply for any role that matches your skills and experience, but please don’t re-apply for a role if you have already been interviewed & rejected. Take the feedback on board and apply for another that is a better fit.
The typical Version 1 hiring process consists of 2 rounds. Both are conducted over MS Teams. The first round is generally a technical interview with the Hiring Team, followed by a culture fit interview, mostly conducted by the Hiring Manager/ HR. On occasion a customer may want to talk to you briefly for an onsite piece of work, but this isn’t the norm.
As part of the initial process you will also be asked to complete our Thomas International psychometric assessments. Your dedicated Talent Acquisition Recruiter will explain these to you on the initial call .
After initially applying to Version 1, you can expect to hear back from our Talent Acquisition Team within 2-3 business days. Further into the process you can expect feedback on your interviews within 1 to 2 weeks.
If you don’t hear don’t be afraid to follow up with you dedicated recruiter.
The Version 1 hiring process usually takes 2 to 3 weeks from initial application to final interview. Each interview will be 45-60 mins in length (could run longer for more Senior hires or Graduate assessment days).
Thomas International is our online psychometric test partner. Typically you will be asked to complete 2 assessments ; PPA ( Personality Profile Assessment) and the HPTI (High Performance Trait indicators). Both assessments take approximately 10 minutes to complete and the results will be available to you. Some roles also require the third assessment after the initial stage. This is the GIA ( General Intelligence Assessment)
We base our technical interviews around your skills, competencies, and experiences. As such, there are no set questions. In advance of your interview, please make sure you are in a quiet place where you cannot be interrupted. We would always recommend going back over the job description and key skills so that you can discuss these.
Have a good look at the Version 1 website too and be aware of what we do and who we are: www.version1.com
Generally no, but should the role you applied for requires a technical test you will be advised of this in advance, and what to expect.
Even in these ‘working remote’ times, we would ask you to dress appropriately for any interview. Smart casual is our advice- we encourage you to bring your authentic self.
Since the pandemic 100% of our interviews switched to virtual.
We are very flexible in terms of interviews. Face to Face interviews can be arranged if you prefer. We generally use Microsoft Teams or any other suitable video software.
The recruiter will always touch base with you prior to your interview to answer any queries you may have. You can also reach out to them via email or over the phone with any questions and they will be happy to help.
