Primark continues to expand globally, strengthening its presence in Europe and the US with the opening of new stores. To support this growth, Primark required a scalable and robust financial system and selected Version 1 as its System Integration partner for the implementation and end-to-end delivery of Oracle E-Business Suite Financials. Version 1 was selected in an open tender process based on deep technical expertise, retail domain knowledge and the ability to mobilise an experienced team quickly to meet business driven deadlines.
Core Financials Delivered to Tight Deadline
The Version 1 implementation approach delivered the core financial modules (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, eTax & Fixed Assets, AGIS) as well as third-party integrations, custom components and reporting solution in under 12 months. Crucial to the Version 1 approach and meeting the ambitious timelines, was strong programme management and governance upfront which fostered high stakeholder engagement and trust. This well-managed and controlled approach ensured a flexible, design-led implementation which delivered a solution and process to meet Primark’s business requirements. Once the system came online, a specified Hypercare period also minimised risk for the business providing critical enhanced support to users during busy month-end periods.
