Version 1 Celebrates 1,000th Employee

Marianne Glackin, IT Business Analyst, has only just joined Version 1, but she is already making company history. Marianne is the 1,000th employee of Version 1. It’s a growth milestone in a year full of milestones. Over the past 12 months, former COO of Version 1, Tom O’ Connor took up the role of CEO, the business surpassed €100 million in revenue, and most recently Version 1 ranked Top 10 in Great Place to Work Europe and was recognised for the seventh consecutive year as a Great Place to Work in Ireland. Version 1 has gone from strength-to-strength over the past 20 years and the development within the company has been astounding since we started trading in 1996. One of our proudest achievements at Version 1 to date however, is that our first employee from 1996 is still with us.


Aidan Mullen, Head of Public Sector, Ireland began his career in Version 1 back in 1998 and remains as an employee today. We take pride in the fact that not only has our first employee stayed with us for over 20 years, but that Aidan is also in good company, as we also have customers who have stayed with Version 1 for over 20 years too.

Version 1 has continued to grow and now employs a workforce of over 1,000 people across multiple offices and dozens of major client sites across the UK and Ireland. With multiple acquisitions achieved in recent years as well as the steady growth of the rest of our business, we are proud to celebrate our milestone of 1,000 employees in 2018, while also remaining true to our heritage and looking after the same people who have been on this journey with Version 1 from the start.

In the midst of setting herself up in the first week at the office, Marianne shared her excitement about her new role and being the 1,000th employee at Version 1, which she described as “an honour” upon hearing the news. IT Business Analyst Marianne Glackin said:

“In a nutshell, what attracted me to Version 1 was the people I met who were living the Version 1 Culture and Values. I briefly worked with Version 1 employees in the past and I admired their professionalism and their structured and efficient approach to work. When looking for a new role at the start of 2018 I immediately thought of Version 1. It is an honour to be the 1,000th employee for an indigenous Irish company and wonderful to be part of an organisation that has successfully expanded into the UK market. The future looks very exciting for Version 1”
