Challenge
AWS Managed Service - Continuous Optimisation
Version 1 worked on a solution with the customer to tackle their VPN connection from on-premises to AWS. There was an ongoing issue with the customers on-premises Cisco Meraki F/W not passing VPN traffic to AWS.
The customer had completed a recent on-premises upgrade that could not be rolled back, which resulted in website issues and connection faults.

Version 1’s team of experts worked closely with the customer to understand their requirements.
In discussion with Version 1 and the customer, the idea of terminating VPN on AWS with a Cisco Meraki instance from the marketplace was discussed, however this idea would have to be trialled in time as it was unclear whether the connection would improve.
Delivering a VPN
Deployment
After completing a thorough review of each application, the VPN further degraded and needed to be deployed sooner than anticipated. Version 1 created a CISCO device in AWS, in this case virtually, to install a VPN tunnel between the two CISCO devices. This installation will secure the system, provide network scalability, and reduce support costs for the business.
From the creation of the new connection tunnel, with a few added customisations, the instalment was an unmitigated success. The VPN connection has been running smoothly for many months now, without any fluctuations in demand for the service.
