What is a Shadow Board?

The Shadow Board is a forum in Version 1 made up of a diverse group of younger members of the Version 1 team, all under the age of 30, a generation who make up a large portion not only of our own company, but of our customers’ companies and our customers’ customers. The group is sponsored by the CEO and its primary directive is to provide insights, feedback, and ideas to senior decision-makers in the business, representing their generation’s perspective, as well to hear about the company strategy and decisions so they can share with their peers.  

How does it work?

Each member of the Shadow Board is assigned a mentor from the senior executive team who supports, leads, and ensures a seamless alignment between the project objectives and the overarching business goals. This encourages creative collaboration with strategic direction. Previous Shadow Boards have worked on a diverse range of projects from ESG, talent development, employee engagement and business support to name a few.

Meet the Version 1 Shadow Board 2024

Our Shadow Board for 2024 is made up of 16 members working in different practices across the business and from a variety of locations including Belfast, Bengaluru, Dublin, Pune, Birmingham, London, Malaga, and Newcastle.

Hi, I’m Aoife, and I work on the Organisational Development team as a People Success Coach and Organisational Development Consultant. In 2019, I started my career in Version 1 as an intern and joined permanently after completing a Master’s in Organisational Psychology. Since then, I have witnessed huge growth and change in the organisation, which makes me even more excited to be a member of the Shadow Board in 2024. ​​

​​I am looking forward to building connections and gaining exposure that I otherwise might not have. I believe this will be an amazing opportunity to learn from our Senior Management, gain insight into how they make decisions, provide my perspectives, and work on impactful projects across the business. ​​

​​I am passionate about all thing’s psychology, particularly healthy high performance, team effectiveness, personal development, and flourishing within the workplace – all of which I am positioned to impact within my role. Outside of work, you will find me reading, running, and travelling when I can.​

Hi, I’m Vaishnavi R, based in our Bengaluru office. I joined Version 1 in April 2023 as a Junior Data Scientist in the Version 1 AI Labs, which is part of the Office of the CTO. ​​

I am passionate about data science and AI.  My work involves researching the latest advancements in Generative AI. Solving problems using new AI tools and technologies can be challenging. At the AI Labs, we develop proof of concepts for clients using these cutting-edge technologies. ​​

I am excited to be a member of the Shadow Board for 2024, as it’s an excellent opportunity for ambitious minds to explore their potential and become the best version of themselves. I’m looking forward to accelerating my learning, building connections, and making a positive impact within Version 1.​​

Outside of work, I am a singer, classical dancer, and I enjoy going on long hikes, exploring nature and travelling.​​

Hi! I’m Angela Sanchez, a Senior Software Engineer. I joined Version 1 in July 2021 as a software engineer based in Malaga. I have had the pleasure of working on several projects that have allowed me to grow my knowledge and work across various technologies. In addition to this, I am the lead for Woman In Tech and part of the Buzz committee in Malaga.​

I’m delighted to be part of the Shadow Board for 2024 and hope to make a positive impact on the company. I am most looking forward to learning more about Version 1, its leaders, all the people that make the company grow,  and collaborate with the other members of the 2024 Shadow Board.​

After work, I enjoy hanging out with friends, travelling, running and dancing.​​

Hello, I’m Callie and I work within the Digital, Data and Cloud practice as a Delivery Consultant. Having joined Version 1 in May 2022, transitioning from a different career field, I currently specialise in public sector projects. I am also lucky to be able to dedicate my time toward various Version 1 initiatives I’m passionate about, such as Community First, Mental Health First Aiders, and a Project Management community co-ordinator. ​​​

Beyond work, I enjoy travelling; exploring new countries and experiences, football, Formula 1 and fitness. ​​

There are many aspects of the Shadow Board I’m excited for, however, I’m especially looking forward to building relationships and learning from both colleagues and the Executive Board.​​

Hello, I’m Soumya. I joined Version 1 in July 2022, and work as a Content Marketing Associate. My role involves supporting the Marketing team on all things content including writing and publishing case studies, win announcements and blogs, ensuring content on the website is up to date and accurate, and supporting other practices to create content.​​

I’m happy to be a part of the Shadow Board for 2024, and I look forward to working with and learning from my peers and the Senior Management team and contributing to Version 1’s growth.​

Outside of work, I enjoy running, hiking, watching as many films as I can, and making my own films.​​

Hi I’m Cecelia an Integration Consultant and a member of the Integration team based out of the Dublin office. Within my role I am very lucky to work with a variety of people across different locations, departments, and seniority from both Version 1 and those from acquisitions through the integration process.​

With the 2024 Shadow Board I am most looking forward to continuing to grow my career through networking, gaining an insight into the decision-making process of the Senior Management team, and collaborating with the other members of the 2024 Shadow Board. ​​

Outside of work I love adrenaline, having sky jumped, white water rafted, and been ziplining. New challenges and adventures excite me, and I cannot wait to see what this year brings.​​

Hi everyone, I am Sherlyn, a Senior Full Stack Software Developer working in the Digital, Data, and Cloud practice. I am currently working on a project for one of our customers, HM  Courts and Tribunals Services.​

I am Malaysian-Chinese and have lived in the UK for eight years, two of which were spent studying at the University of Hull, and the remaining six working. I’ve been with Version 1 for two years now and Evoco (acquired by Version 1) for four years. ​​​

I am thankful for the opportunity to be part of the Shadow Board for 2024. I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to Version 1’s continued growth and success, while also learning along the way.​​

My interest includes pottery and food.​​

I am Connor O’Neill, I joined Version 1 in March 2023 as a Senior Business Analyst. I am currently working on a digital transformation project for the Northern Ireland Department of Communities. Throughout my career, I have been a part of several large-scale digital transformation clients for both private and public entities. I am a strong believer in the impact technological change can have on businesses and am passionate about delivering the best outcomes for our clients.​​​

I am excited to be a member of the 2024 Shadow Board. I believe it is an extremely exciting time to be employed by Version 1 as we witness the company expand globally alongside a new wave of technology such as AI. I hope to gain an understanding of the landscape the company is operating in while being able to provide my opinion to the key decision-holders.​​​

Outside of work I enjoy travelling, watching football and practicing martial arts.​​

I’m Pragati and I wear 2 hats. I’m an Accounts Payable Assistant  and an Entrepreneur. ​​

I’m based in Bangalore, and I work for the Accounts Payable Global Finance team, and it’s been a pleasure working with them for the past 2 years. I’m also an entrepreneur – I have my baking business which keeps me busy during the weekends. It’s a nice juggle between the world of finance and baking, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!​​​

I’m delighted to be a part of the Shadow Board for 2024. I am excited to network, build new relationships across the business and learn from the Senior Management team.​​
